I work with items of sculpture, performance, video and photography. I am fascinated by materials, by mass and volume. They have the potential to refer to “forgotten”, to wake up images once seen but not noticed. Sometimes I am looking for the way to release their invisible energy bound in atoms. Even simple fall could do so. This leads to kind of performances – corporal energy in short connection/cooperation with the objects energy. To keep this moment I use video. Video, however, is itself “material” which refers. I like to use it this way as well. This rise up the questions about relation between sculpture and video – moving image as a platform for approximation to the material and material as an index of an story. Which features of the media cause that the moving image turn to be substantial, or that the mass display itself only via moving image? Regarding the content, my work “in general” is a diversive research of our perception. I was interested in the invisible power of atmosfere pressure and other physicall forces – 50 litres big pressure, I was interested in how do we percieve the commercial covers of everyday things – Boxing, Bagging, ... Contemplation about variety of their shapes, promises and emptiness which remains after the product has been packed out, led to the certain consanguinity to the speech. I found packing to be a metaphor for words and signs. As an atractive design of the cover should make the product’s function clear to the customer, so do the words. They are sorting impulses from around as well as from “inside”. We see the world throught our mental assumptions. But not always. There are moments, and I call them “events”, that bring “an intensive meeting with a world” - moment of the pure perception. I have asked: Why do situations we experience daily sometimes become events and sometimes just pass over. How do these events get preserved in the memory. In practice I am creating objects and situations with a drift from their usual function to functional absurdity. Change is small - reference to reality is preserved, but set up process which does not fit to it. Like a new word in a language people understand. Even when the word signifies something they have not yet encountered, or something that does not exist.
