Artist statement / about artist Artist resume News from the artist

Ondrej Brody creates surprisingly gentle and tender videofilms but engages also in provocative actions and installations. In most of his works he confronts his audience with social taboos. He works with explicitely shown sexuality that is often perceived as repugnant but he also deals with other aspects of life. His art contains humor related to the bedrock of life or to the phenomenon of art itself. We do not need to be ashamed at his shows and, perhaps, we might also allow ourselves to have disturbing dreams. Let us not view his work as voyeurs or art experts but, instead, expose ourself to their direct influence.
