Barbora Klimova
winner Jindřich Chalupecký Award , 2006
Barbora Klimova's work is primarily related to a place, which also predetermines its shape. A major part of her projects can be described as interventions into specific locations, whereas intervention in her case means also a small shift, deflection of what we could call normal, resulting in a new situation.
Klimova's projects often deal with an apropriation, an allusion, or mimic some aspects of a reality to violate the one once given. She is concerned with site-responsive intervention, as a strategy for examining and influecing our surroundings.
Through the medium of her work she explores and intervenes with and in public space, the domain of everyday reality, and within other realms; cultural history, theory of architecture, urbanism, anthropology, and sociology.
Her projects have thus far included object and spatial interventions, performances, texts, conversations, and publications.
In her most recent activities she researches stories and histories connected to places, and the transformation which cities in the Czech Republic have experiences in past decades.Last update: 04. 01. 2010 09:24:37 |
