Artist statement / about artist Artist resume News from the artist

The artist's preferred means of expression in visual arts are installation and performance, although he continuously practices painting. His works of art always refer to the problems in society and to human psychology. In his painting “You Thief”, he directly confronts the viewer’s conscience.

During the bloody protests in 2006, when a political movement called “Self Determination” went to the streets to protest against the UN rule and the Government of Kosova, everyone knew at the outset that this was going to cause trouble. The protest resulted in two deaths, since the international police reacted violently against the protesters. Carlo felt it was necessary to become part of this event with his art. He was there, among the tear gas and weapons, serving hot tea with lemon “For Calming of the Spirits”. There he created the performance which he called “Tea with Lemon”. One of his installations with which he participated in the Artists of Tomorrow Award competitions was titled “Carriage” and symbolized artist’s movement. The most recent work is art in public space -- a beamer projection on the façade of a Government building. He wrote a “Lullaby” for the Government to identify them as “sleepers” in this delicate point in Kosovar history.
